To feel some more width in your swing, see if any of these thoughts help:
1. Feel like your right arm is straight during your backswing (right handed golfer).
2. Feel like you take the club back low and slow for as long as possible.
3. Feel like you elbows are pinched together throughout your backswing. It's on old Hogan/Penick feeling. Penick used to have his players put their arms through a coat hanger and swing. The feeling helps keep your arms in front of your body which is necessary for width.
