Golfing On eBay: Building Your Complete Set For A Steal

If you are one of those golfers that does not search eBay for golf clubs, tour only prototypes, Scotty Cameron putters and collectibles, then you are missing an entirely new world.  Granted, we want you playing correctly fitted clubs so take advantage of our TPI Experiences.  But if you know the best shafts and clubs for you, then by all means, shop 'till you drop.

If you are one of those golfers afraid of shady dealers on eBayer, we hear you.  But there are many respectable green grass golf clubs, golf businesses, and regular folks offering fine golf clubs that are new, slightly used, and sometimes straight off the tour (but the eBay crazies bid thousands on those rare "tour" finds).

We have a system you can follow to make your eBay experience optimal.  It's simple, effective, and you can save.  Bring your credit card or Paypal account, study the product pictures and lets go.

    The eBay Advanced Search Feature

Following along and go to  the eBay Advanced Search (opens in separate window) .  This gizmo makes finding clubs easy, but the key is finding clubs offered by the right sellers, for the right price, and without the auctions.  Scroll down to the following sections:

    Search Including

You will always find more options if you check the Title and description box.

    Price

Hold off on a price range until you see search results.  Your budget and the actual market will vary and limit your options.

    Buy It Now

Click the Buy It Now box to eliminate the auction process.  Auctions can get emotional which turns into something over your budget.

    Shipping Options

Select Free Shipping.  Sometimes sellers incorporate basic shipping prices into the price of the product--a clever, no-hassel-way to do business.

    Show Results

Don't worry about this section, leave it untouched.

    Sellers

Select the box and choose sellers with eBay stores.  These eBay members are paying big money to host a shop on eBay and usually have a full commitment to customer service.

Back to the top of the search page.

Now type in your driver you are looking for.  Followed by separate searches for three wood, hybrid, irons, wedges, putter, and a bag if you need it.   Using this technique, here is what we found to fuel our Titleist ego with a few other brands.  Keep in mind, these links won't last for long.

Driver:  Used, Titleist 905 R 10.5 UST V2 shaft, very good condition $250 (Retail $399.99)
3-Wood: New,  Nickent Custom three wood options, $199.99 ($249.99)
    Irons:  New, Titleist AP2, 3-PW, Project X Shafts, $799.99 ($999.99)
Hybrid:  Used, Titleist 585 19* Hybrid, Aldila VS Proto, $109.99 ($199.99)
    Wedges:   New, Cleveland CG14 56, 60 wedges, $99.99ea ($109.99 ea)
Putter: Used, Scotty Cameron Circa '62, $239.99 ($299.99)

Total price:  $1,799.94.   A savings of $460.  No shipping costs, no taxes (if applicable) , no bidding, and no shady sellers.

Pretty good stuff.  Let us know what you find by submitting your comments.
